UMHLANGA BEACHES, HAWAAN FOREST & LAGOON:

The warm Indian Ocean awaits you. Go for a surf or a swim or just lie and soak up the sun on one of the magnificent Umhlanga beaches. If you are lucky, you may spot a passing pod of Dolphins.
For the energetic, you can run or walk the Umhlanga Promenade from Durban View in the South to Breakers Hotel in the North. Enjoy the beautiful sea views, have a photo by the iconic Umhlanga Lighthouse and meet some of the locals and their pooches along the way. A high tea at Umhlanga’s world famous Oyster Box Hotel is always a good idea.
The Hawaan Forest and Umhlanga Lagoon are great for a shady nature walk. If you are quiet, you may see Duiker antelope, some beautiful local birds and the ever adorable Vervet monkeys. For the fit, you can keep walking along the beach to Umdloti (take water and wear sunscreen) It can get rather hot but it’s so worth it.

KZN SHARKS BOARD:

Why not pay a visit to the nearby KZN Sharks Board and view a shark being dissected, as well as a most informative (and rather smelly) presentation.

SIBIYA & SUNCOAST CASINOS:

Give "lady luck" a chance to smile on you and visit either the Suncoast or Sibaya Casinos which are situated less than a 10 minute drive away.

GATEWAY THEATRE OF SHOPPING & LA LUCIA MALL:

For the "shopaholic" there is Gateway Theatre Of Shopping, one of the largest shopping malls on the continent of Africa, with its huge array of boutiques, retail shops, supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. A large cinema complex, 10 pin bowling, go-carts, children’s play areas, food court and gym are available. The upmarket and exclusive La Lucia Mall is an 8 minute drive away and boasts boutiques, retail shops, supermarkets, beauty and hair salons and busy coffee shops.

MOSES MABHIDA STADIUM & GREYVILLE RACE COURSE:

For the sport-lover, we have the recently constructed Moses Mabhida Stadium. Go on a tour, the bungee swing or hire a Segway for a fun tour of Durban’s golden mile. Horse racing at Greyville Racecourse is always a popular event, with the Durban July and The Gold Cup being highlights of the racing calendar.

USHAKA MARINE WORLD & USHAKA BEACH:

A 20 minute drive away, the world class Ushaka Marine World boasts a spectacular aquarium with Dolphin, Seal and Penguin Shows. A super fun water park and shopping mall with restaurants and bars that will keep the entire family busy all day. The Ushaka beach offers surfing lessons and SUPs for hire. For the energetic sightseers, hire a bicycle and ride North along the newly completed Durban Beach Promenade to the Blue Lagoon where you will see the mouth of the Umgeni River, the Mangroves and the local fishermen fishing for chad.
